Sons & Daughters

Dear Daughters, Sons, and Caregivers,

Thank you for considering On-Site Dental Care as your family’s source for oral health. As an exclusive provider of Oral Care to residents in Assisted Living Communities we have great empathy and respect for the role of the “caregiver”.  Additionally we realize the care of your Mom or Dad is vitally important to their quality of life.

As you may know, many studies suggest poor oral health as a leading cause for a number of diseases and ailments (see links).  Other issues such as the ability to eat properly, difficulty tasting foods, or chronic bad breath, are usually the result of poor oral health and a sign of issues to come.  Our responsibility at Onsite Dental Care is to alleviate these issues by providing professional, courteous, and comfortable dentistry for the elderly at an affordable rate in the care of their own community.  Additionally Onsite Dental Care eliminates the difficult task of coordinating, scheduling, and transporting your mom or dad for dental appointments.

It might mean our assistant holds a patients hand during a procedure, or maybe we place a blanket on the legs of a “chilly” patient or a kiss on the cheek as we walk them back to their apartment you have our promise; we will CARE for your mom or dad, we will RESPECT your mom or dad, and we will ADVOCATE for a healthy, comfortable, and functioning mouth for each resident that chooses to become our patient.

In most cases our patients have not been to see a dentist in years.  As with each patient we recommend we start with exams, x-rays, and cleanings.  By successfully completing these procedures our doctors can develop a Treatment Plan for the patient.  Often choices can be given to the family based on the conditions found during the exam.  After the initial exam The Doctor will develop a Proposed Treatment Plan.  Obviously, treatment plans vary but we do not continue care without the permission of the Caregiver.  We realize it’s important to continually communicate with the Caregiver and the patient, and we will do so through meetings, mail, e-mail or telephone.  Essentially your family will dictate who we communicate with and how.

Lastly, all of our doctors come with years of dental experience, especially with elderly patients.  It’s a special type of care which balances patience, courtesy, humor, and at times, hand holding.

Thank you for visiting the On-Site Dental web site.  Please contact us at any time should you have any questions or require further information.

Sincerely, the Team at Onsite Dental Care
